Why do you think I recorded a video about managing distractions and summeritis? Only because my clients needed this? NO! I needed it too.
We have to stay focused during our regular working hours whenever those may be.
Can you alter your regular working hours whenever you want as an entrepreneur? Of course you can. But can you alter them daily on a whim? I wouldn’t suggest it if you have goals to reach, that’s for sure!
I’ll bet you’re making at least one of these 4 social media mistakes and either pissing people off or missing out on leads and opportunities!

I see so many people using social media for their crazy sales strategies that are NOT doing them any favor. Just like you don’t want to be “that guy” or “that girl” at the networking event that is shoving your card in people’s faces and then walking away… you do NOT want to be that person on social media sites. You can get a bad reputation just the same.
One of my biggest pet peeves I’ll share in the body of this blog post, then you have to watch the video for others, is: when people tag me in posts that clearly have NOTHING to do with me and they get their post featured on my profile wall. ANNOYING to say the least!! Do not do this.
If you want my attention (or someone’s attention that you care about), you cannot do this, we will eventually BLOCK you or unfriend you if you continue. Pay attention and take the time to get to know me, engage with me and then ask me to support you if that’s what your goal is. But don’t force me to support you by tagging me. ARGH!!

Are you aligned with your Purpose?
Are you an entrepreneur who is marketing yourself and your business, but you are not getting results? You are not alone. This is a common problem that is shared by many entrepreneurs. One of the problems is their message is not clear or they are having problems articulating it clearly and it’s missing the mark with the people they want to serve.
Those are symptoms of your not being clear on your Purpose – what you are here to do, who you are here to serve, how you show up in the world and what message you are here to deliver.
Are you truly Authentic?
How do you come across to others? Is it possible that programs you’ve sold in the past no longer work for or resonate with others. The world has shifted and authenticity is critical. Faking your results just won’t cut it anymore. People are tired of investing in programs that no longer work.
Are you in the Right Niche, are you saying the Right Things, are you Expressing Yourself according to your Purpose?
When all of these are in alignment and the Monetization piece is in place, you’ll find your business will thrive instead of finding yourself in debt in a couple of years.
Do you know how to Monetize Your Mission?
In the older business models, you had a product or service that you exchanged for money. It’s different in today’s world! Now you have to factor into that exchange how to make people feel they are contributing to the greater good. Contributing a percentage of sales to charity alone is no longer adequate.
Do you know your Purpose? Are you having trouble trying to discover what your Purpose is? Do you have an Attractor Factor?

I talked online recently with Nicola Grace, The Mission Mentor and business coach, about how to Jumpstart Your Marketing to get clients and customers. We shared tips about marketing strategies, developing your marketing mojo, the value of a mentor and so more more!!
As many of you know, I’ve worked in various forms of marketing and sales for most of my life. Through the years, I realized there were many entrepreneurs and business owners who LOVED what they were doing, but didn’t know all of the aspects of running a profitable business.
Nicola has also been in marketing and sales for quite a while with over 20 years of online marketing. She began doing contract work while in London for companies like Virgin Records and other big companies with big marketing budgets. This experience exposed her to how the “big guys” handled their marketing with the large budgets they had. But most Solopreneurs have to take a different approach because they don’t have that kind of marketing budgets that large corporations have.
Today online marketing is a MUST. You just can’t avoid it anymore, but offline marketing is an effective way to compliment your online marketing. Offline marketing works best to really connect and engage with people with different ways and people like that personal touch!
Mindset is also critical to the success of your business. You have to be open to opportunities. Another problem is see is business owners who don’t use effective marketing strategies because they don’t personally like them.

Now you’re armed with some great marketing tips, so don’t agonize over marketing. Remember, you need to position yourself as an expert in your industry and you’ve got to do more marketing to achieve that.
One last tip, I’ve had several mentors over the years and my final tip is for YOU to get a mentor to look at the BIG PICTURE of your business. Invest in Yourself! It will pay dividends for years to come.
