Why Should You Become An Author?  I’ll tell you why…

How many times have you thought about being an author?  Sometimes when people have overcome a challenge or have realized success with something they’ve done or accomplished, they think to themselves or even say it out loud…”I should write a book!”

Why? Because they have a message, knowledge or information that they think would be helpful to others.

I’m certain that many of you have had those thoughts too, but have you really considered doing it – becoming an author?

There are many reasons people write a book these days, but for business owners and entrepreneurs, the BIG reason to become an author of a published book is to get VISIBILITY and EXPOSURE. In a noisy world like the one we live in today, it’s hard to get the attention of others to learn about your message, your service or products.

And, another wonderful by-product of becoming a published author is that you gain a certain level of credibility as an expert in your field or industry!

Today my Idea in the Shower was What If People Charged What They Were Worth?

What if your hourly rate, your package price, or your annual program, or whatever you do was priced really high? I hate to see that some of you are NOT charging what you are worth for your services or products.

When people ask me what they should charge for their program, I answer that “you should charge as much as you can without stuttering”.

So let’s talk about pricing today!

I’ve found that many people starting out look at the marketplace, their competitors’ prices, and they charge something similar or many times, lower, because they are new to the business. That’s not the best thing to do!

For example, many times people who have the education and training needed in an industry but who are new entrepreneurs charge less than someone who has been an entrepreneur in that same industry for a longer period of time, but without the same level of training! Just because they’ve been in business longer doesn’t mean they are better. These new entrepreneurs should be charging what they are worth right out of the gate! They can still negotiate custom packages and pricing or beta test pricing with a lower price. When you are starting out, you need to get some clients to try your service or product; you need to get feedback and testimonials – people who like what you offer and have good things to say about you (so you can get more clients, right).

You need to start thinking outside the box about your pricing!

Hi,

I wanted you to know about one of my Live Big Mastermind clients’ workshop that she’s holding on Sept 20th in Alameda, Ca. She is an author, book coach and publisher for other authors who want to write a book, get their stories out, develop business-building tools and so much more.

A book can do all of this. I know because I’m a published author too of my own book, Love Yourself Successful, but I also am a featured author in three compilation books with multiple authors. Compilation books were great ways to get published without having to write a whole book.

But sometimes I know, and so does Candace, which is why she’s holding this workshop is that we just can’t even begin to write that very first word!
