Have you thought about doing webinars in your business? If not, you might consider doing them. But you need to learn how to do them and why you might want to do many more in your business, whether free or paid.
My friend, Ellen Finkelstein recently joined me on a short interview with Change the World Marketing and she shared valuable tips and important points that you need to know, if you are doing webinars now or if you plan to do them in the future.
In this content-packed interview, Ellen covers some of the mistakes that many business owners make – I found that I’ve made them too.
So listen in to learn what you need to know to do webinars well from someone who does them frequently and makes money from them too! You will also learn to build a better webinar strategy. You’ll need to know how to create your webinar strategy because the internet and engagement is changing and shifting – you want to shift with it.
Ellen gives us all an AMAZING tip about half way through the recording so have you pen and paper ready to take notes. AND she gives a FREE Copy of her PowerPoint Layout Templates on this video.

Is your Funnel working as it should? Is it generating enough interest to generate the leads you need? If you are struggling to create an effective sales funnel because you don’t know how to start constructing it, this post and video are definitely for you!
This post and the video are designed for entrepreneurs, small business owners, independent contractors and anyone who needs to meet a lot of people and build relationships in order to promote and increase your business. Because marketing these days is useless without working at building the relationships with your clients, prospects, referral sources and contacts. Making offers is a key component to building those relationships. You can do this if you’re a speaker or doing a speaking presentation or not.
So What’s in your funnel? What are YOU Selling?
Here are 5 Levels of What (could and should be) in Your Marketing or Product Funnel Plus What IS a Funnel?
1. The “Freebie” – what are you giving away on your website or in person so you can capture people’s contact information so that you can continue to market to them? You’ve GOT to do this one for sure and it doesn’t have to be a FREE consultation! Try to give something away that your target market will definitely want but it doesn’t have to take your time, make it more automated instead.
2. The “Easy Yes Offer” or “Try Me Out” Offer – This is your low-level offering. Can you record a free CD, write an ebook, offer a webinar, prepare an ecourse? These are all lower level products or programs that you can create once then sell over and over again taking no more time (time being the key word on a low-level offering). Easy Yes Offers can also be your time if the goal is to have conversations with prospects in order to have them connect and trust you to enroll in higher end programs. You can give and receive a lot of value in consults where you charge a small introductory fee.
3. The “Do-It-Yourself” – This is the larger, more beefy product offering that people can buy and work through at their own pace. It could be your signature service packaged into a home study kit for example like I plan on doing with my Love and Money Business Summit and that I’ve already done with my JumpStart Your Marketing(TM) System.
4. The “I’m All In” – This is for very interested and committed prospects who want more of YOU. They want to get your advice personally maybe or work with you 1on1, come to an event or even pay you for your high end programs or services. There are fewer people who will commit to these types of offerings however if priced right, you don’t need that many, nor can you usually handle that many.
5. The “Whole Enchilada” – This is for the type of customer who simply LOVES YOU and loves what you do, teach or sell and will buy anything and everything you offer or promote. They are your ‘ideal client’, I’d imagine.
Click here to view the video and hear more about “5 Stages of Your Funnel – What are YOU Selling”.
Finally you have to practice, test and practice and test, over and over again and different audiences might require different easy yes offers. You may have to alter them, change them and revise them along the way. You’ll know when you have that easy yes offer, people will be throwing cash or their credit cards in your face or orders will come in like crazy online!
Join me at my next live training workshop where we’re going to get you super clear on what you’re selling and offering. Which of these do YOU need? How many do you need to sell to make your goals? And what platforms will you do that on, how will you get those clients and more.

Stop Talking about Your Goals Like They’re Dreams…Get ‘Em Done Instead
You’ve probably heard of S.M.A.R.T goals before…and that’s because it’s a formula that works. Here’s an overview:
SPECIFIC – Your goal needs to be spelled out very precisely and you also need to have a reason WHY behind your goal…some benefit or emotional attachment that will keep you focused. For example, a goal might be to earn $12,500 per month and onboard 5 new quality clients monthly in the next 90 days.
Using language that leaves no doubt as to what the goal is, why you want to achieve the goal, and how you will get there is very important. If you are not able to be detailed in your description of the goal, it will be hard to meet it. Take the time to do this part right.
MEASURABLE – This is where the Journal comes into play. It’s a report card and a method to measure what you want to accomplish and what you actually accomplished. If your goal cannot be quantified, then it’s not a full goal and you won’t know how when you have succeeded. An example of a measurable goal would be “I want to deposit to our bank account an additional 100 dollars per week. I’ll accomplish this by writing five 500-word articles each week for a life coach.”
ACTIONABLE / ACHIEVABLE – There are different things that “A” can stand for, but it’s usually actionable or achievable. In order to achieve anything, you must take action. So, make your goal actionable, where you do something each day that will eventually result in an accomplished goal.
Goals should also be achievable or you will quickly get frustrated. Be accurate about the time it takes to reach a goal, and what actions it takes to get there. Also, know who will be responsible for doing it.
REALISTIC / RELEVANT – “R” can stand for realistic or relevant, and both are important. If you want your goal to succeed, it should most certainly be realistic or you will fail. If you’re currently making $500 a week and your goal is to increase that to $12,500 in 90 days, that’s not realistic. However, you may be able to increase it by $300. Once you achieve that goal and are earning $800 a week, you can set a new goal to increase your income by another $500 a week or something similar.
Your goal should also be relevant to your life’s vision and match your values. There’s no point in making or achieving goals that have no relevance to your long-term life goals. You could instead use that time to reach goals that get you one step closer to actually reaching your life goals. So always ask yourself, if the goal is relevant to your life goals.
TIME BOUND / TIMELY / TRACKABLE – Various authors refer to the “T” in the S.M.A.R.T. acronym as time-bound, timely or trackable. All of these t’s are important parts of the goal creating and setting process. If you don’t set a time limit and you can’t track what is happening, your goal will be hard to quantified or show as achieved.
To help you work through and create S.M.A.R.T. goals, download the quick guide and worksheet below.

Today I’m talking about a quick tip about using handouts when speaking. If you’ve followed me even for a short period of time, you know that I use speaking as my #1 marketing strategy in my own business. And I teach it to my clients and other entrepreneurs as well.
Speaking is really the #1 Fastest Path to Cash. You can leverage your time and expertise by talking on a video (like this one you are viewing), a telesummit, a webinar or in person at a conference, at a meeting or even a very small group. I’ve spoken to a room of as little as 5 people in the room (including myself and the host) and as many as 3,000. You can get started anywhere. So today, I want to teach you about using handouts in your speaking presentation, specifically offline but you can use these strategies for online speaking too. If you are using handouts when you are speaking online, you’ll drive people to a pdf that has a special link. You can use this strategy if you are even speaking on a radio show or a podcast too. Check out the video below to learn the 7 Ways to Create Effective Handouts for Speaking Gigs. I’m showing you examples on this video too! Click the video below to learn about “Creating Effective Handouts for Speaking Gigs”.
So get your materials prepared and use them at your next Speaking Gig!
If you are interested in more tips to monetize more of your speaking opportunities, make sure to sign up for my Speaker Success Webinar. It’s a FREE webinar coming up on June 7th at 12p.m. PST. You’ll learn my 6 Steps to Speaker Success in this webinar. If you miss it when it’s LIVE, it’s being recorded so you can listen to it later. But you have to sign up. Just go to LiveBigEvents.com/webinar-speakersuccess
And I have a Speaker Training event coming up in Sacramento this July – you’ll see all of the information about my Speaker Success Bootcamp when you go to my LiveBigEvents.com website. This training is LIVE and in person and is packed with the information you need to be a more successful speaker, whether you are new to speaking or are currently a speaker. Here’s to Your Success!
My quick video biz tip for you today is to ask…Are you already speaking? Or do you know you should be speaking in your business to get more exposure, get leads and clients, make sales, make more money?
Whatever the reason, speaking is the #1 Fastest Path to Cash. Whether you can admit that or embrace it is up to you, but I highly recommend you put becoming a speaker or learning to be a better speaker on your to-do list for this year!
You should learn to position yourself so you can sell from the stage or from the back of the room as well as speaking more online and offline. For example, this free video tip for you is actually a speaking gig! One that I created for myself. I’m just trying to prove a point – you don’t have to get booked into a conference where hundreds to thousands of people will be in the audience. Sure, that would be a great gig! And I realize that not everyone clicks to watch videos. But, you should be prepared to do any type of speaking gig.
As a speaker, you’ll need to know several ways to be prepared because many times a speaker will not be permitted to sell from the stage. There are things you can do to negotiate ways you can generate leads.
Check out the video below to learn 3 Things a Speaker Can a On Stage (Virtual or In-Person) to Build your List and Get More Clients. These are all things that are inexpensive or you can do them for free.
Click the video below to learn “3 Ways to Get Leads When Speaking”.
There are many ways to get paid speaking gigs too! These tips I have just shared with you today are Lead Generators to build more awareness and get you more exposure.
Come to my Webinar because I’m going to share SO MUCH MORE! I have a 6 Step System on how to Make Money from Speaking. Sign up today at www.livebigevents.com/webinar-speakersuccess . The Webinar is on June 7th at 12:00 p.m. PST. and is being recorded so you can attend LIVE or listen to the recording. But you have to sign up to get the recording.
Remember, sometimes an opportunity to speak to a group may come up and you’ll want to be prepared. This Webinar will give you insight to handle that. And if you are currently speaking, join us on the Webinar anyway because I’ve got some tips and ideas you’ve probably not even thought of yet!
Today I want to talk about maximizing free gifts you offer in your business. This is a great way to generate leads both online and at events.
I’m talking about when you go to someone’s website and see an opt-in box where you are offered a free audio, video, webinar, a drawing, free report or download to entice you to sign up for their newsletter. If you are online, you need to offer this. And, your website needs to have the functionality to display the opt-in box, you’ll need a way to deliver your gift automatically via email or on your website.
You also need to have a free gift to offer when you are at a networking event. I’ve just returned from an exciting networking event and was surprised that many of the people there didn’t have a call to action at the end of their 30 second commercial to entice people to give them their business card (and permission to put them on their email list).
If you have the type of business where most people will not hire you on the spot, you need to be prepared to offer a freebie so people can experience you or your products/services and to interact with you. This is the start of the KNOW, LIKE, and TRUST relationships you want to build.
Here are some examples of a free offer:
A free consultation
A recording of one of your teleclasses or seminars
A video of you giving your Signature Speech or Talk
And for you network marketers out there who have products to sell but not services, you can do a drawing.
Now if you are at networking or live events, there are 3 ways you can get more exposure for your business and generate leads with your free offer:
As an exhibitor
As an Attendee
As a Speaker
Check out the video below to to get great tips on how to “Create and Maximize Free Gifts in Your Business”.

Why do you want to use more freebies and gifts in your marketing?
Because typically it will…
Attract new prospects to your list or your website
Get prospects interacting with your content, your website, yourself so they can trust and connect with you faster
Allow them to experience you on a deeper level to decide if they want to buy from you or take the next step
Here are a few examples of WHAT you could create:
Free Report – talk about or teach the top 3 tips on something, 3 keys, 5 biggest mistakes, anything how-to oriented, all of them are good.
Free Audio – like the one on this page, notice that I am giving you access to a free audio training I did a few years ago and you can do this too. RECORD EVERYTHING YOU DO! You never know when you can use it again, gift it or bonus it in a package. Same types of topics as above.
Free Video or Video Series – Same as above but do it via video. Get yourself on camera to really connect deeper with the audience and your followers, video will make the biggest impact because they can see you. You can use a combination of powerpoint slides, photos, flip charts, music if you want, testimonials and of course yourself; I do recommend putting YOU on the video though for sure at some point.
Free Drawing – for some of my clients such as photographers, salons and spas, network marketers and a few other types of businesses you could run a drawing each month only for new subscribers to your newsletter. They can have the chance to win a gift certificate, free product, special package of some sort or cash even. But make sure it’s NOT just the chance to get a discount on whatever it is that you’re selling, that’s not a “freebie”.
Free Service – for my salon and spa clients often times we offer a free facial or free massage. If you’re in charge of booking the business and providing the service this works, if not and you have your stations rented of course this won’t work unless each therapist or stylist agrees. You just pick one winner each month from new subscribers.
I recorded this call a few years ago and it was part of a training I did to paying clients in one of my previous membership programs. So it’s in depth training content, not just a fluffy teleclass audio where I go into much more detail about all of these ideas and so much more!
I wanted to offer this to anyone who is having trouble getting people to initially opt into their website or who needs to attract more people from in person events onto their list.
Freebies allow you to have something to give a new potential prospect so they can experience you another way – either usually in written form, audio or now video is becoming a very popular way to develop a freebie. You can also have a great next step in that free gift that could be paid or somehow will get them to engage further with you if they want to know more.
Most entrepreneurs need more than one freebie or free gift.
You may need many different ways and things you can offer or give to attract different types of prospects, talk about different topics or things they’re looking for and/or give them different ways to experience you – hence the audio, video or report. Some people want to read more, some want to watch, some want to listen. You do want to give people options or you’ll steer away those who aren’t interested in the ONE way you’ve given them.
In this audio I walk through 10 different ways to convert prospects using freebies in your marketing and your business. I also talk about what you could offer as a freebie, I give some examples that could give you ideas. (Oh and by the way….this blog post/audio an example of how to give a freebie!)
Here is the page to go to get free access to this audio training (you will be opting into my emails and newsletters too by the way, but I send a ton of great articles and videos to help you jumpstart your business in many ways, you’ll want this)…
In addition, this is one thing that I also work a lot with almost every single client who goes through any of my programs, live events or 1on1 coaching. I look at your website very carefully when we talk to find the holes and opportunities not only on your site and how to fix it to be more engaging and conversion friendly but we look at holes and opportunities throughout your entire business, your products/services, pricing, marketing, systems, team and so much more.
I would love to have a conversation with anyone reading this or listening to this freebie audio who knows you have holes and opportunities to fix and take advantage of in your business.
This is for you if you know there’s things missing in your marketing or you have no time to do anything about it and need to know the most efficient systems, processes and strategies to add, tweak, change or implement so that you can create a smoother-running, more profitable business for yourself doing what you love.
