Email is supposed to be the most effective way to share with your subscribers, customers and prospects BUT everyone is on too many lists these days, including you probably, and we barely see probably 20% of what comes in.
It’s true, email is very effective for those who read them BUT it’s very ineffective for those who aren’t even seeing all the great stuff you have to offer and that’s a shame.
So, what do you do as a passionate business owner trying to inspire thousands of people with your gifts and talents?
You see, it’s critical these days that you do more than email or social media to market to clients and prospects.
Many business owners though try not to spend money to attain new leads so this is all they do. But you’re still not seeing big monetary results.
There are a lot of things you can do that are free or very low cost to market your business but you just may not know what those are.
Email marketing however cannot be the only thing you do to keep in touch with your list, clients or prospects.
You’ve got to find a way to get more contact information for your prospects, like phone number and mailing address.
In this digital age you want to stand out and be different and really the best way to do that is to just pick up the phone and send a few mailings. Seriously, what has worked for hundreds of years for business-building still works and actually it works better than email.
Now, I mentioned social media here too, and social media can be done if you’re doing the right things online; otherwise you could just be wasting time posting without a clear strategy.
So basically, you need to do all of this plus much more, and on a regular basis too, if you want to see clear, consistent cash flow and customers.
What to do about your email marketing?
Well, here are a few tips to help increase your email open rate as best you can:
1. Brainstorm on some really enticing and attention getting subject lines – this is a big part of why people aren’t opening.
2. Deliver really good content – articles, tips, videos, audios and more.
3. Get personal with your list – the more they know about you, the more likely they’ll want to see what’s up with you each time you email.
4. And of course, make sure you have permission to email them in the first place – don’t be a spammer. (If you aren’t sure of the laws, educate yourself!)
Keep in touch with your prospects, clients and your entire database regularly in many different ways for best success.
