One thing we talked a lot about is BOOK FORMATTING – of your ebook or print book.
Proper book formatting is absolutely vital to having it read or purchased and especially to getting RAVE REVIEWS!
No reader likes a poorly formatted book or one that’s hard to navigate without easy online click to chapter links for example with ebooks.
The visual experience of your book is something to spend a little time and money on for sure.
Here are a few book formatting tips for ebooks:
Make the content easy to read, meaning use words most people use and write like you talk perhaps
Put bulletpoints in and paragraph breaks often so it’s not just paragraph after paragraph of content
Make it easy to click to each chapter from within the Table of Contents
Be careful adding too many pictures, it will make your file very large and not as easily downloadable for users, most ebook readers prefer text only
Add links to pages in your website for easy clicking and opting in for free stuff!
Here are a few book formatting tips for print books:
Have enough white space so the text isn’t all crunched together please, that’s just annoying
Have easy to scan copy with lots of smaller paragraphs just like in the ebooks, bulletpoints, numbers perhaps if you’re sharing steps to something and even pictures I think.
Pictures will add pages to your book if you haven’t written something very long or if you want to spread out the copy a bit. Be careful using pictures that are only good if used in color, color is VERY EXPENSIVE to print in a book! Think about adding a color version to your book on your website perhaps if the pictures really are better in color, then you can link to it from your chapters and also hopefully get people on your email list!
Please remember to drive people to your website whatever you do… add in things perhaps like “Action Steps” at the end of each chapter, or a “Book Resources Download Page” for audios, video content and more.
Use a header and footer for your pages, it can change for left or right sided pages also so you can alternate what’s on those, but use that space to include your business name, website or title of your book even.

Finding speaking gigs of all sorts is an extremely important revenue producing activity that I believe most entrepreneurs want to be focused on each and every week.
If you’re not speaking weekly at this point and you are a speaker, what are you doing?
There are opportunities EVERYWHERE to speak.
Heck, you can create your own speaking gigs – online, in person and all over. If you’re not doing that, why not?

A couple others that I forgot to mention on the video are:
1 – Put a Google Alert on for “Call for Speakers” then when anyone puts that on a webpage you’ll be notified. Now, you might be notified QUITE OFTEN if you’re not careful or if you don’t narrow that phrase down a bit but give it a try!
2 – If you wish to speak to corporations or larger associations and conferences, besides doing the things I mention on the video or in #1 above, you will also want to build a PROSPECT LIST of companies and organizations. Then you have to reach out in a direct marketing approach to those people, connections and companies multiple times over a period of time to build relationships with them. Normally you’ll have to allow them to get to know you over time before they may be ready to speak with you so don’t give up after just one or two contacts!
Now… in order to get booked these days often you also must have a video of yourself doing your talk or with an example “sizzle reel” of some kind.
You want to figure out how to get a video of yourself in front of a couple audiences or more if you don’t already have some footage.

I’ve spoken to a room of as little as 5 people in the room (including myself and the host) and as many as 3,000. You can get started anywhere. So today, I want to teach you about using handouts in your speaking presentation, specifically offline but you can use these strategies for online speaking too. If you are using handouts when you are speaking online, you’ll drive people to a pdf that has a special link. You can use this strategy if you are even speaking on a radio show or a podcast too. My quick video biz tip for you today is to ask…Are you already speaking? Or do you know you should be speaking in your business to get more exposure, get leads and clients, make sales, make more money?
Whatever the reason, speaking is the #1 Fastest Path to Cash. Whether you can admit that or embrace it is up to you, but I highly recommend you put becoming a speaker or learning to be a better speaker on your to-do list for this year!
You should learn to position yourself so you can sell from the stage or from the back of the room as well as speaking more online and offline. For example, this free video tip for you is actually a speaking gig! One that I created for myself. I’m just trying to prove a point – you don’t have to get booked into a conference where hundreds to thousands of people will be in the audience. Sure, that would be a great gig! And I realize that not everyone clicks to watch videos. But, you should be prepared to do any type of speaking gig.
As a speaker, you’ll need to know several ways to be prepared because many times a speaker will not be permitted to sell from the stage. There are things you can do to negotiate ways you can generate leads.

Today I want to talk about maximizing free gifts you offer in your business. This is a great way to generate leads both online and at events.
I’m talking about when you go to someone’s website and see an opt-in box where you are offered a free audio, video, webinar, a drawing, free report or download to entice you to sign up for their newsletter. If you are online, you need to offer this. And, your website needs to have the functionality to display the opt-in box, you’ll need a way to deliver your gift automatically via email or on your website.
You also need to have a free gift to offer when you are at a networking event. I’ve just returned from an exciting networking event and was surprised that many of the people there didn’t have a call to action at the end of their 30 second commercial to entice people to give them their business card (and permission to put them on their email list).
If you have the type of business where most people will not hire you on the spot, you need to be prepared to offer a freebie so people can experience you or your products/services and to interact with you. This is the start of the KNOW, LIKE, and TRUST relationships you want to build.
Here are some examples of a free offer:
A free consultation
A recording of one of your teleclasses or seminars
A video of you giving your Signature Speech or Talk
And for you network marketers out there who have products to sell but not services, you can do a drawing.
Now if you are at networking or live events, there are 3 ways you can get more exposure for your business and generate leads with your free offer:
As an exhibitor
As an Attendee
As a Speaker

I’ve talked to several people recently about speaking in their business, writing a book and doing a lot of other fun things to get more exposure, more visibility so they can grow their business and make more money. Many of these people shared BIG concerns about being vulnerable, being transparent, about sharing their story.
Most of them really didn’t know the key insight, lesson or message they have to share. They are not sure what their worth was and what their story means to other people.
If this sounds like you, I want to encourage to you STOP! Just stop for a second – stop and think about what your story is! Many times we are just too busy to see what’s right in front of us – to see what’s missing in our business, in our energy, in the way we comes across to others whether online or in person.
I can relate to this because I had similar issues in the past. But once I learned how to just be ME and be transparent in both my business and personal life, it was a time of huge growth for me. I made more money and acquired clients that were more suited to me and what I do. I’ve found that sharing more about myself, my life, and experiences has translated into finding more clients who are the people I’m meant to work with. Wouldn’t you like those kind of clients too?
