This was me about 9 years ago…
I was all “DOING”. That’s all I focused on in my life, my business, etc., it was whatever I could DO to get to the next level, be happy, to get clients, get myself out there more…. DOING, DOING, DOING…. what could I DO to get to the 6-figure mark in my business was my biggest goal in 2008 and it had been for a couple years but I was stuck, I couldn’t get beyond the plateau I was at financially. It was driving me crazy and it was very frustrating too because I was literally DOING everything everyone told me to do to market myself, follow up; more than probably many of you are doing now even.
It wasn’t until I hired this one business, money, mindset coach… I had hired him because he was emphatically confident that he could help me make more money, he could help me reach to and exceed the 6-figure mark. Ok, so I invested $25,000 that year with him and his mastermind and I went to every call, live event, and meeting; I was “all in”.
Funny thing though is that what we worked on all that year was not the marketing, sales or business tactics that I thought we would. Instead, it was the mindset, limiting beliefs, confidence, blocks, fears and frustrations that came up that all of us had to tackle, including me.
I went to my meetings hopeful and was left distraught, angry, defeated. I didn’t understand what my coach and everyone in the group was trying to tell me back then. When I asked “what do I need to DO to get more clients and build my business to 6-figures”? They would simply answer, “Just BE Katrina”, “Just BE LOVE”.
“WHAT?????” I would remark back with utter frustration and disbelief, crying at the thought that I still had no idea HOW I would get there, what I needed to DO.
Being a good student, I did “try” to go to events and “just BE”. I tried to wrap my “doing brain” around what that meant and what I needed to DO to just BE (LOL). Somehow, some way, I started making strides towards this and I almost didn’t recognize it when things shifted for me. It basically happened on a subconscious level, I would go to conferences and other meetings or events that year or even get on calls with prospects and I would prepare myself right before with the words such as: “Ok Katrina, just BE who these people need you to be, be open, be willing to speak to them, be willing to share, be love energy” and then I would walk in. I wouldn’t use my normal “marketing talk or commercial”, I would ask more questions and just listen. WHOA! What a difference it started to make!
When I did this, the perfect prospects started coming up to me and sitting next to me at lunch. They would remark how easy it was to talk with me and how I made them feel safe and heard. I even had some sign up for my high-end programs at other people’s live events – to the tune of $40,000 for one client! I was shocked this was working and frankly looking back on it now, I didn’t know at the time that it was working. It wasn’t until the year ended and I went to go pull my sales revenue for the year and I had hit $110,000!!
Not only that but I had found a new love interest too after being divorced and single again for 3 years. I had found LOVE & MONEY at the end of that torturous year I call it. This was the key to my success!
Now, keeping this up over the years was a practice of course as you can imagine. It can be easy to revert back to the DOING from the BEING, especially if you’re in fight or flight mode with too many bills, or difficult situations. It was a constant struggle and still to this day I often have to give myself that “PEP TALK” before walking into an event or a phone call. But it is easier and I’ve been able to maintain and grow my revenues every year since then.
This year is where the concepts of my book, Love Yourself Successful, and my events with the Love & Money theme came from. THIS stuff is the key to many of my clients’ success stories because I saw in them, what I was doing and now knew how to help them make the shift or get more balance between the DOING and the BEING.

There is no magic pill or ONE thing that you can do to jump from $30K per year to a $Million, I don’t care who tells you there is, there isn’t. It takes determination, work (not necessarily hard work by the way, just work), practice, flexibility, willingness to learn, ability to ask for help, confidence, belief in yourself and accountability to yourself and others.
This is why I do what I do. It’s to educate, motivate and inspire more people who need this message, more people who want to make a bigger impact but aren’t sure how to do that, more people who want to make a great living doing what they love but aren’t sure how. I teach massive amounts of the DOING along with a side of BEING.
