The other day I sent an email out about the expert series I’m a part of all about creating extraordinary love in your life (if you missed that and want that, click here). Some of you have extraordinary love already which is amazing and I’m so happy for you. A lot of you however messaged me back saying how it really hit you just how unhappy you are being single. I hate to see anyone being unhappy in their love life. Frankly, having an amazing husband like I do, is probably one of the single best things that I have going for me. It allows me to be more confident in what I’m doing, who I am serving, it allows me to be proud and bold in my actions in my business and with the decisions that I make to grow my business every year.
I remember when I was single and dating, and I longed for a loving relationship like this so badly. It was on my lines pretty much every day which affected my ability to really work my business the way it needed to be worked. I wasn’t as motivated, I wasn’t as confident, and I wasn’t taking the action steps that I needed to take on a regular basis because of whatever reason. Sometimes I was in a funk, sometimes I was just plain depressed, and sometimes I just felt sorry for myself and didn’t want to talk to anybody copy.
Getting more love in your life as well as money in your business are the two single most important things that I see us entrepreneurs need to focus on, on a daily basis.
Too many people I see however only focus on one or the other, usually it’s the business stuff because they’ve given up on finding love, or they’ve tried dating and “it doesn’t work “. What I like to do is help people focus on both. I have quite a few clients right now who are single and dating and it’s fun to give them advice on what to do and how to navigate the dating world, creating systems so they can meet more people and get to finding the right one faster. It’s also fun to see them seeing some success, and finding people that they have things in common with, have fun with etc.
So, in case you haven’t heard, I run this event every year called Love & Money LIVE! It’s an amazing event where for three days, we focus on both: getting more love in your life and getting more money in your business. Ultimately, it’s about creating the business and life of your dreams. I believe you can design your life however you want if you believe it’s possible. Today my Idea in the Shower was What If People Charged What They Were Worth?
What if your hourly rate, your package price, or your annual program, or whatever you do was priced really high? I hate to see that some of you are NOT charging what you are worth for your services or products.
When people ask me what they should charge for their program, I answer that “you should charge as much as you can without stuttering”.
So let’s talk about pricing today!
I’ve found that many people starting out look at the marketplace, their competitors’ prices, and they charge something similar or many times, lower, because they are new to the business. That’s not the best thing to do!
For example, many times people who have the education and training needed in an industry but who are new entrepreneurs charge less than someone who has been an entrepreneur in that same industry for a longer period of time, but without the same level of training! Just because they’ve been in business longer doesn’t mean they are better. These new entrepreneurs should be charging what they are worth right out of the gate! They can still negotiate custom packages and pricing or beta test pricing with a lower price. When you are starting out, you need to get some clients to try your service or product; you need to get feedback and testimonials – people who like what you offer and have good things to say about you (so you can get more clients, right).
You need to start thinking outside the box about your pricing!

Today’s tip is in response to many questions I’ve received from my coaching clients and Live Big Mastermind clients that can be best handled with a direct marketing approach.
If you want to target prospects who you don’t know or those in industries that are different from your own, these tips are for you!
No one “likes” to cold call, I get that. But direct marketing to a prospect list will work if you are creative and memorable – you have to Stand Out!
First of all, don’t send an email to someone you don’t know or who doesn’t know you. This is a huge mistake that many people make. You email will likely not be opened; most people will delete it without opening it. I use a different approach because it takes multiple touches to attract the attention of the prospect, referral sources, someone who books speakers, etc. My marketing and sales experience began in offline marketing, so this is one area that I learned to do quite well.

Today I’m super excited to give you another Video Biz Tip – it’s all about plotting out your Marketing Calendar!
Are you an entrepreneur who is not sure what you should be doing every month or every week? This post and the video below is a snapshot for those of you who are not sure how you should be spending your time or if you are outside of your office and in front of others enough to promote yourself and your business. This is one of the topics we cover in my Live Big Mastermind and at my Live Events, like we just did at my “Jumpstart Your Biz in a Weekend” event a few days ago, see the example in the video. Just remember to plot your marketing calendar and BE CONSISTENT! Consistency is the KEY in a good marketing strategy.
Are you blogging consistently? What about Facebook LIVE videos – are you using this tool to reach the people who want to hear your message? If not, you should be. What about Networking? What events did you have planned for the month? And are you calendaring your Follow-Up after the networking events? If not, you need to start doing that. There’s profit in your follow-up. Hosting your own event will give you extra credibility, exposure and cash flow!! But you want to learn how to launch them the right way and most affordably based on where YOU are in your business, not where the person is at that’s teaching you.
Now I’m not trying to instill fear to keep you from hosting your own event. There are so many affordable ways to host an event!
When I first started hosting events, I didn’t have a resource to guide me or to field my questions. I usually provide this type of coaching for only my high end clients or in my mastermind. I’m sharing some tips in the video below because I see so many entrepreneurs jumping into situations related to hosting events that will ultimately cost them a lot of money.
Here are some things to think about when hosting your own live event:
What do you want to sell AT the event because you won’t make your money from ticket sales?
How many is the minimum that you want in attendance – plan your budget for that?
Will you have other speakers to add to the roster and will you allow them to sell stuff?
Where can you hold it where it won’t cost you an arm and a leg?
What can you teach that isn’t too much info so they leave wanting more?
What else do you need for the event to be successful?
What do you negotiate in a contract if you’re using a hotel or venue with one?
Maybe it’s time to get a mentor who can help you sort through all of this so you can maximize and monetize your time and exposure!?!?!?

In my quick video tip today, I want to share with you my Secrets to Creating Virtual Programs That Sell ~ hosting your own virtual programs. These are Group programs, they can be done via phone, video or webinar.
This was a big topic of interest with many of the members of my Live Big Mastermind group at our retreat a couple of weeks ago. Many of the questions were around converting one-on-one programs and local programs to a virtual program so they can reach more people globally. They wanted to know how to change from trading dollars for hours and move beyond just serving people locally.
So here are my tips to creating those Virtual Programs:
Mindset – Get Over Your Over- Thinking – you may think that what you have to offer is just not good enough or compelling enough. Or you may be thinking it won’t serve the needs of people when created virtually. Get Over It. Unless you are a hands on practitioner, you CAN do create a great virtual program. Case in point, I have a client who is a piano teacher and they produce learning videos. You don’t have to necessarily provide services in person these days. You just have to get comfortable creating virtual programs. It will save you time and freedom in your schedule and allow you more leverage in paid opportunities. Simply stated – make more money in a shorter amount of time!
Technology – don’t let the fear of learning a new technology hold you back. Figure out what you need to learn. Technology has advanced and is more user friendly.
Knowledge of How to Create your Program – start with your Signature System. Do you take people through a process or modules that you use to teach or coach people? You may need some help brainstorming with someone to pull out the information to create your Signature System. Then you design the Program around it.
