Running Facebook groups is my #2 marketing strategy. Is it yours? Are you doing it effectively? Are you seeing paying clients come from it without you having to be overly sales-y?
Running Facebook groups helps create and engaged COMMUNITY that fosters relationship-based marketing. We all know how important relationship-based marketing is to cultivate the “Know-Like-Trust” factor, right? Without your leads getting to KNOW you, LIKE you and TRUSTING you…your chance of converting them into paying customers/clients is virtually zero.
In this video I share a few tips on how I’m running facebook groups and how it’s working. I also share tips on what to post on your various Facebook pages and groups AND why you want to start a Facebook group or community.

Do you see how you’re getting less and less people noticing your posts, especially on Facebook these days? Wondering what you did? If your posts are not getting noticed, it’s time to look at your strategies on Facebook.
What do you need to do to get more people paying attention and engaging with you?
Well, I put together a short list of things my team and I are doing now on Facebook…. every social site is a bit different but Facebook is the one that changes most often. You want to change your strategies with Facebook for best ROI.
Here’s where we recommend you focus right now:
Facebook live videos – on your personal profile or inside a group you run or another group IF you’ve been invited to do that.
Social media private messaging – this is a huge way to connect with thousands of people every single month BUT you have to be very careful how you word your messages and how many you send at one time. (they’ve been known to shut down profiles)
Social media etiquette – watch out for doing spammy things on FB. Stop it. Heed good etiquette rules of conduct. Don’t know what those are? Well… be less salesy for one.
Provide all value no pitch content initially then take it offline for more.
Get off to sell unless you want to spend big money on FB ads!
Engage inside groups and start your own with a theme. Connect, comment, give, advice and give resources to be seen as a valuable resource. Others will follow you if they see you’re a giver with a heart.
Don’t focus on your business page (unless you want to pay to play), it’s not worth it unless you have thousands or more followers and a very interactive group who comment and share your posts regularly.
Why listen to this advice? Well, do you want to waste time on social media or spend it wisely and get clients or referrals from it? You decide!
I’ve been online for a long time and stay up to date regularly on changes and trends, things that work and don’t work anymore. Do you?
That’s not to say this advice could change soon too – you want to keep checking back for sure as it’s an ever-evolving marketing strategy.
Are you confused and frustrated with Facebook, Facebook Business Pages, profiles, groups and how to actually use it for business or to gain new clients?
Well, you’re not alone! Join the club….
Facebook changes almost as often as I change my “you know what”. They change the rules, take away cool features, throw new things at us that we have to learn and the worst thing is that it’s now harder and harder to get your “friends” or “followers” to find your stuff and see your posts.
Why do they do this?
Plain and simple, they’re ready to really monetize this thing…. they are already making millions of dollars every month we know due to people running Facebook ads but they want more. They want us now to “pay to play” on our business pages in order for almost anyone to see what we’re doing.
Well there’s got to be a way around this I say…. Let me share a few things I’ve learned recently from a few friends in the article below.
Then if you want to really get on top of how to utilize social media (all sites, not just Facebook) to find and attract clients as well as learn some other key business and marketing strategies to make a lot more money in your business this year then I invite you to join me at my next Love & Money LIVE! 3 day training April 5-7, 2018. I get that it’s hard to understand what to do to maximize your exposure and time on Facebook (and all the other sites too but for today’s article, we’re talking specifically about FB).
What should you really spend your time on?
Well, many of the FB experts out there say to focus on 3 things and I am adding in #4 and #5 as they’ve worked very well for myself and my clients over the last 8 years!

FACEBOOK ADS – this one gets your stuff seen best but of course it costs money… and you really have to know HOW to do this well or you’re just wasting your money. I’m getting ready to hire a FB ads expert team to help me navigate this strategy myself… it’s the best way to maximize this type of investment.
UTILIZING SHARE PARTNERS FOR YOUR FACEBOOK BUSINESS PAGE – yes, this is a new strategy that I just heard someone talk about on a call I was on the other day…. boy is this a GREAT IDEA!!! Every one of us should be doing this!! It’s free first of all so that makes it easy. Second, all you have to do is reach out and message or ask other “business page” owners if they would be willing to be share partners with you. Usually you ask those with a similar number of followers… then when you find a handful of them, you just trade off sharing each other’s posts every day (or every other day) on each other’s pages… it’s that simple. Of course you both have to agree to do this and keep doing it for it to work. The idea is that your followers will start following them and theirs will start following yours. Pick people who have similar type posts, like you both put out funny memes or you both post inspirational posts and images/quotes. The gal who shared this with us has over 1.4 million followers on her page!! Seriously, I’m starting to do this so if you’re reading this and you have a similar page and followers number to mine – email me back and let’s become sharing partners!
FACEBOOK GROUPS – this I’m finding, in some cases, not all, it can be the best place to “corral” so-to-speak a bunch of people who like you, your stuff, your tips, your style, your business, etc. into one place where you can speak with them and control the environment (to a certain respect). I have one client who is KILLING IT with his group. In fact I don’t think he does much else or pays attention to much else that growing, nurturing, inspiring and sharing tips and resources with the community he’s building. I’m even baffled at his level of engagement that he gets and they are all ideal prospects for him – amazing! So a couple things I know he does well is he makes every single person who joins his group feel welcomed with a welcome message. He invites great comments on interesting posts and questions. He doesn’t allow outside links at all (except for like two in his main pinned welcome post)!!! This is a big one… apparently Facebook is really cracking down and limiting your exposure to your friends, followers and group members when you link to something outside of Facebook. Linking within FB is ok it seems but my client is really monitoring that so he can keep up the high reach within his group. You know that just because someone is in your group or has liked your business page doesn’t mean they see your posts right? It’s true.
FACEBOOK MESSAGING – this is the key strategy that I’ve been teaching for almost all of my 8-10 years on Facebook. And the way that I’ve taught it hasn’t actually changed that much yet, you can still message almost anyone on FB privately. It’s what you SAY in that message is what gets you either paid attention to OR marked as a spammer so you have to watch out; I teach what to say and not to say in my coaching and live events by the way, I give you the script! Now, there is also a thing called Many Chat which allows you to auto message people and have them reply creating additional auto messages – they’re calling them bots.
Well, is this list what you thought?
If not, if you’re focusing elsewhere, maybe it’s time to change up your strategy… just sayin’. Let’s do what is working these days and yes, it’s a lot to keep up on, I know!
That’s why I have a team to help me… if you can delegate some of what you’re doing at least you can do more, reach more people, get more exposure and attract a lot more clients.

Do you realize that developing content for your business is a crucial aspect of marketing?
If so and it’s relatively easy for you to develop content, then great.
But if you didn’t know this or have trouble coming up with what to write or post or record then here’s a quick tip for you that I do occasionally when I run out of time to write up an article for my newsletter or record a quick tip for my Biz Tip Videos on YouTube.
I guess, first of all, I should explain how important it is to even write or develop content in the first place. Doing this whether it’s audio, video or written content is good to drive more traffic to your website first off.
You want to post this information or link it to your site somehow, you want to post videos on a YouTube Channel, post articles on your blog and then even find places to submit your content to also such as this magazine or other online websites and media. You can be an expert contributor to this magazine or something similar in your industry, just look around for what’s available to you in your marketplace.
So the tip is to develop a question around what you want to create content about, a bigger subject or a niche theme. You then post that question on your Facebook personal profile or your business page or both to see what the comments are and to spark dialog and interaction with those following you.
For example, I wrote another article recently from a question I posted one day that got over 45 comments on it. The question was: What do you do when you get “in a funk” (you know what I mean…), how do you “snap yourself out of it” or do you?
The advice and recommendations started pouring in immediately. Notice that it wasn’t a business-oriented question or something that pertained exactly to what I do. But I do experience many clients and small business owners who get into funks and it’s hard to coach them unless I can help them snap out of it. So in that sense, it was relevant.
The day I posted that question was the day I was thinking about recording a video for my email newsletter on this same topic but I was trying to come up with the 6, 7 or 8 ways to share. I obviously had a few ways I would share or suggest in that video of things to help people get out of a funk but when I looked at the responses from the question, there were over 20 different ideas and ways to get out of a funk from all the people who commented on the post.
Within an hour of posting that question on Facebook, I had an article written about that topic, I posted it as a blog post on my blog, I had recorded a video on it, uploaded the video to my YouTube channel and then sent the video out with a link to it and the blog post too out in an email newsletter. Amazing!
You can do this too! It’s this simple.
What kinds of questions do you ask?
Well, you’ll have to try it and see but what I find is that open ended questions of course are always better and give you more “meat” to work with, rather than yes or no questions. Make them NON-business oriented too if you can if you want even more response! The questions I ask about, what people need to jumpstart their business or which marketing strategies do they want to learn more about, unfortunately hardly get any response.
We want responses, comments and personal interaction on Facebook and other social media sites. Try this and see what happens!
