Over the last couple of weeks I’ve been talking with you about Mastermind programs. Why you should join, what they are, what the are not and which one would be the best fit for you. But ultimately….

What it all comes down to is how do you most like to learn and how are you most productive?

You have to know your best learning style so you choose and invest in the programs and products that fit you and how you best learn so you don’t waste your money.

I, for example, am NOT a good product learner. I don’t have good luck purchasing a home study kit or other listen to/read type of product and then actually sitting down working my way through it. It will sit on my shelf forever unless I pass it on to an assistant to read and learn and then THEY can implement whatever it is or give me the ‘cliff notes’.

Instead, I learn best by working one-on-one with a Mentor who’s doing what I want to do or going where I want to go. You know…

• Someone who’s still in the trenches themselves.
• Someone who’s investing in themselves as they ask me to invest in them.
• Someone who’s learning from other big thinkers and money makers so that knowledge will trickle on down to me as well.

I learn well in a workshop atmosphere too but then if I don’t quickly act on the information I  learn, it just sits on my shelf once again. Having a Mentor and true Mastermind group to hold me accountable, help guide me in all my big ideas and implementation is truly the glue for me that holds my business together while it accelerates at the speed of light from one level to the next, and the next, and the next.

Do you learn best by teleclasses, group trainings, workshops and online self-administer recordings and interaction or do you need or want more one-on-one mentoring, advice, guidance, resources, feedback and recommendations from your mentor or coach?

I woke up this morning and couldn’t get back to sleep without writing this because I think it’s so important…this was confusing to me a few years ago too when I first started joining mastermind programs and high level coaching programs.

I know many of you are reading other people’s ezines and promotions and following other coaches and mentors as well….as you should; but I’m hearing that you’re confused.

With all the coaching and mastermind options out there right now, all of the 2012 mid-year groups are now forming…not only mine but a couple of my mentors’, other coaches like me and more; you’re confused as to which one is right for you?

I know they are a big investment, not only in yourself but in the direction of your business too so you want to make the RIGHT DECISION on which one to join, correct?

First of all, WHY should you want to join a Mastermind group or coaching program?

It’s simple really and most of us who’ve been in them would say it was the best thing we EVER did in our business (and that’s the truth).

Ready to Find Out What You REALLY Need to do to Attract Clients and Make Money Now?

The top questions I hear from entrepreneurs are “How do I find clients” and “How can I make more money?”

So how do you do it?  How do you continuously attract and find new clients, build the business that excites you and make more money … all at the same time?

The biggest mistakes entrepreneurs are making right now, over and over again, are randomly investing in products and programs or people who can’t really help them with what they need to do next. I laughed as I created this title but it’s true. So many entrepreneurs that I talk with or who work with me always ask, “What’s Hootsuite and should I be using it for my business?”

That’s if they have any idea about what it is at all of course, many do not.

Hootsuite is an automation tool. The layman’s way to describe it is that Hootsuite allows you post comments and updates on your social media profiles all from one online location. This is supposed to save you time from having to log in to all the different ones separately.

Some of the things you do on Hootsuite however are good for time management and some things aren’t worth doing in my mind because they could make you look bad.

There are a few different types of automation tools.

  • We have Hootsuite and a few other sites like that one.
  • We have our phones now too right? You can post from your phone to almost any site with an app – that’s great for saving time and giving more up to the minute reporting.
  • There are ways to get your blog posts on WordPress and your YouTube videos automatically linked out to post on your social profiles. Those auto functions are very useful however they have flaws too.

Here are some of my random thoughts about automation on social media:

  • Hootsuite – It can be good and save time of course to use this type of tool but I recommend only auto posting the following types of posts: event updates, some promotions that you may have going on, possibly some regularly scheduled content you want to get out for education.  I don’t recommend posting personal notes, status updates and posts about what you’re doing right now as its less personal.  People can see where you are posting from by the way too. So if you do post solely from Hootsuite, all your posts say that underneath. You may have seen people’s Facebook pages like that. This means they haven’t probably logged on to Facebook in a long time, which means they aren’t really interacting with you or any of their friends and it’s not personal.
  • I recommend a mix of automated and self posts no matter what to definitely get more done but also to stay personal.
  • Your Smartphone – I see nothing wrong yet with using apps for updating your social profiles. Afterall, those apps are pretty good at letting you see all your friends and everything that’s going on as well as posting to your profile so you can interact more and it shows.
  • Auto blogging and videos – This is good too because its an efficient way to get your info to your followers quickly. However you want to look at your settings for those posts because often times they don’t give too much detail about what the post is about, its just a link and a picture and it would be good if there were a bit more description is all to make it more compelling to open.

Now there so much more to know about how to maximize your social media marketing and time online but I can’t cover it all in one article. Posting and commenting is good and you do need to do that so people know what you’re up to, what your interests are, etc. But in order to get business from your social media marketing profiles and the time you spend I recommend one way in particular about how to connect on a deeper level with your fans, friends, followers and new prospects – it’s actually more like networking but online.

It seems like a no brainer right?

Wrong.

Most small businesses have no idea what to say in follow up, what to send, to whom and when or how. So that’s why it just doesn’t get done.

  • You aren’t doing your phone call follow ups, I know.
  • You aren’t mailing anything in the mail to remind people you’ve met to get in touch either.
  • You may be emailing people that you’ve met but are you being spam compliant?

There’s more to following up than just these few things. To make sure it’s done consistently and not sporadically, strategically and not haphazardly, you really need to implement specific systems and templates into the plan.

These may take just a couple hours to prepare if you buckle down, follow my templates and instruction but then you’re done and your follow up marketing (most of it) can even be delegated!

The 6 Steps You Really Want to Follow to Ensure You Have a Results Based Follow Up Marketing System in Place are:

  1. Organize Your Database – it has to be put into some sort of electronic system or software in order for things to run smoothly. That means you have to enter all those business cards into the computer (or pay someone to do it ASAP after you get them)
  2. Develop Your Marketing Messages and Materials – this can be easy if you have templates you can just edit to make fit your business. There are different templates though for different types of follow up so beware.
  3. Develop Your System – this can be easy too since in my system I give you a guide to a 28 point touch system, connecting with people in 28 ways within a 2-3 month period is what I suggest.
  4. Delegate, Automate and Manage – this is where you can hand it off to an assistant – YAY! If you pay someone to do your follow up (what could be the single most important revenue generating tasks you do in your business) they will get done for sure.
  5. Track, Analyze and Revise – yes, you’ll want to make sure it’s working of course, then tweak your messages, templates and shift things you’re doing accordingly. Sometimes marketing needs to be tested.
  6. Continue Building Your List and Repeat – you can’t just stop at a few dozen new contacts a month into your system. In this age of massive internet interaction, you have to do more marketing and follow up than you ever thought you would. I’m talking reaching out to thousands of new leads every month.

Market, market, market – you’ve got to find more people and build more relationships then have the marketing, sales and follow up systems in place to manage all those leads and funnel them into next steps.

And while all of this is more automated, it can still be very personal and warm. So don’t worry about losing your authenticity, it will very much still show in everything you do if you plan it out well ahead of time and not rush through your marketing like you may be doing now.

99% of the small business owners I talk to every month have HOLES in their business. Sales and Marketing holes, many of which could be fixed for free or very little investment. They don’t see these holes usually however because they’re too close to their own business but that doesn’t mean they aren’t there.

I see the holes as huge opportunities for increased sales that could happen with such little effort or expense.

In fact often times the seasoned business owner is so set in their ways that they don’t evolve with the times, therefore actually losing market share, revenues and overall marketing pizzazz; it becomes much more difficult to attract new clients when you’re not moving the business in forward motion.

It’s important to continue evolving and changing your business as you go; you will never be done creating your online presence, your marketing or getting to your next level. If you decide to be complacent then your income will stagnate as well.

We’re almost to the half way mark for the year and boy is it flying by!

I wanted to let you in on a little secret that I’m doing right now in my business and it’s about SIMPLIFYING.

Yes, you heard it here first….the queen of doing all kinds of stuff in her biz is SIMPLIFYING.

Let me share with you why….

You see, while the leveraged business models are still working, there are some business models that you want to spend your time on and some you ABSOLUTELY DON’T right now….

It’s time to ‘Get Back to the Basics’ of what works in your business, your marketing, your follow up and your overall effective work habits.

In the last few months every business owner I’ve spoken to has all had the same questions:

“What can I do that will bring me more business, nothing is working?”

“Where should I be focusing in my business, I feel like I’m spinning my wheels?”

Well, you’re not alone. However there’s a lot of hypy sales stuff out there that sounds great and sounds like it could help you make millions of dollars but will it really work for YOUR type of business and YOU?

Can you risk it financially right now to ‘try it out’?

Most of you I know cannot; neither do I want to take some of those risks so I’m with you here.

Do you really know what you’re making per hour after all is said and done?

I’ve worked with hundreds of women entrepreneurs who THINK they really know how much money they make. When we really break it down to all the time they’re spending before, during and after the sale, many times they’re shocked to see what that price tag really is.  Sometimes it’s even less than working in a fast food restaurant!

So I ask you:

  • How much money do you ACTUALLY  make per hour?  Is it above minimum wage?
  • Have you ever taken the time to ask yourself WHY you have you priced yourself (or your products and services) the way you have?
  • When was the last time you looked at your pricing to make sure that it matches up with the VALUE that you’re offering?

Regardless of what you’re doing or what business you’re in I can almost 99% guarantee that you’re NOT CHARGING ENOUGH!

How can I say that? Because I’ve seen it hundreds of times with hundreds of other entrepreneurs in all kinds of industries and types of businesses and frankly it’s a shame.  Too many people are scared into thinking that no one is going to buy from us right now (in this economy) or that people aren’t spending what they used to.

There are PLENTY OF PEOPLE who are willing to pay you what you’re (really) worth but there are some things that need to be put in place in your own life so that you can feel confident asking for and getting those higher rates.  You need to believe that you are worth it.   You need to be completely happy in your personal life too or you will only get to a certain level of revenues and then most likely get stuck.
